How might we redesign the Cimbali user application to create a more intuitive and emotionally engaging coffee experience—one that connects consumers more deeply to their daily rituals through user-centered research and service design?

In collaboration with software development company Crispy Bacon, our team undertook a user-centered design project to enhance the Cimbali user application. Our goal was to deepen the relationship between coffee consumers and their interaction with coffee through an intuitive and engaging digital experience.


We began by conducting in-depth research, including interviews with coffee consumers and baristas, to gain insights into their behaviors, needs, and expectations. Utilizing service design methodologies such as user journey mapping, stakeholder mapping, service blueprints, and prototyping, we translated our research findings into meaningful design solutions. These methodologies allowed us to identify key pain points, visualize user interactions, and iteratively refine the application’s features and services.


This project emphasized a human-centered approach, ensuring that the redesigned application not only improved usability but also enriched the overall coffee experience for its users.
